This Sunday we follow the unfolding story of Mary and Elizabeth from the first chapter of Luke.  Mary receives a surprise visit from a divine messenger, then hurries to her cousin Elizabeth’s home to confirm it.  When Mary receives Elizabeth’s greeting and sees her swelling belly, she breaks into song–the Magnificat: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
