Sermon Title: By Paths as Yet Untrodden

(Acts 8:26-40, John 15:1-8)

Rev. Erik Kindem, May 3, 2015

Quick Summary:

During Easter our readings from ACTS tell how the Spirit of God, unleashed in the world, transforms a frightened and bewildered group of would-be followers into potent witnesses for the gospel. And how new connections are forged between unlikely friends. The upshot is: The work of the Spirit goes ahead of us, leading us to places we didn’t expect to go.

In this sermon we hear how that unexpected destination worked out for a man from our parish who ended up attending the wedding of a man he didn't know. We also reflect on the unexpected relationships that arose when a community in France chose to harbor Jewish refugees during World War 2, shielding them from Nazi and French Vichy authorities.
