Sermon Title: DO AS I HAVE DONE

(John 13:1-17)

Rev. Erik Kindem, April 1, 2010

Quick Summary:

During his final meal with his apprentices, Jesus gets up from the table, strips to the waist, fastens a towel around himself, and begins washing their feet. Throwing more words at his disciples at this stage in the game would be pointless. So he shows them in one simple but powerful act how preaching turns to practice.

What different places our communities and households become when we refuse to allow the world’s measuring stick to impose itself upon us. When we remember to keep that towel fastened around our waists.
